Leather Shoemaking: Winter Slides

Have you ever wanted to make your own shoes? This three-day intensive workshop is an opportunity to step into the world of traditional shoemaking while creating a pair of simple, comfortable Winter Slides.

Designed for warmth, comfort, and everyday wear, the Winter Slide features a simple, timeless silhouette that allows participants to focus on the essential techniques of handmade footwear.

Over three hands-on days, you will learn the fundamentals of shoemaking, including pattern cutting, leather selection and cutting, shaping and assembly, construction, and finishing techniques.

The simple design leaves room for personal expression. Participants will have the opportunity to explore subtle design elements and details, such as leather choices, colour combinations, decorative stitching, and other finishing touches to make each pair their own.

This workshop is ideal for beginners and makers who are curious about the craft of shoemaking. No previous experience is required, just an interest in working with your hands and learning something new.

With just three participants per workshop, students receive close mentorship and plenty of hands-on guidance throughout the process.

By the end of the workshop, you will leave with a new understanding of handmade footwear, and your own pair of Winter Slides, made by hand from start to finish.
