Wilding Foundation donation enables new GISS minibus
The Wilding Foundation has donated $75,000 to Gulf Islands Secondary School to purchase a new minibus, replacing a 25-year-old vehicle with more than 180,000 kilometres on the odometer that had become unreliable due to mechanical issues.
The minibus is used across athletics, robotics, the TASK program, leadership activities, and class trips, taking students to competitions and events on Vancouver Island and across the Lower Mainland.
“A minibus is an integral part of not only our athletics program, but also many other school programs such as robotics, TASK, leadership activities, and class trips,” said GISS Athletic Director Tom Langdon.
With the donation in place, the school board can now proceed with the purchase.
